Welcome to our website, we are one of the seven sub-regions of Skills for Care West Midlands and cover the area of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. The CWDP works as a partnership to deliver national Skills for Care initiatives at a local level including joint training, workforce planning and continuing professional development across the Health and Social Care sector.

Our partnership consists of the following stakeholders:

  • Shropshire Council
  • Telford & Wrekin Council
  • Shropshire Partners in Care
  • Shropshire Primary Care Trust
  • Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust
  • Skills for Care

Representatives from each of the above organisations form the Steering Group that guides the work of the CWDP. The aim is to bring a co-ordinated approach to the Private Independent and Voluntary Sector (PIV) in order to maximise the amount of funding that is available for training. We also aim to keep the PIV sector informed regarding all the latest requirements and legislations.

A whole range of services can be found on this site that exist to support the PIV sector in up skilling and developing your businesses to meet the ever increasing demands for the services you provide. We support and promote a variety of projects throughout the local area including Leadership and Management, Brokerage, Care Ambassadors, Information Technology Training, National Minimum Data Set for Social Care, New Types of Worker, Post Qualifications and many more.

The aim of our website is to increase your awareness of projects that we are running, promote available funding for training and to help you understand how we can work with you to develop and enhance your organisation. I hope you find it informative, engaging and most of all useful.

Best Wishes
